Golf’s gold child

Golf’s gold child

Rory McIlroy is currently world number one and at only 25 he’s one of the youngest players in the game. Some have talked of him and his generation as the ones that will change golf and bring it to the 21st century. McIlory’s plans for this year are to keep a steady game and constantly be listed on the leaderboards.

However he has one big goal for 2015 and that’s to go to Augusta and be victorious. Besides another victory at a major tournament this would mean that McIlory would have the full set of four. That would make you the 6th person ever to complete what is called a career grand slam (win all the four major tournaments).

In an official statement McIlory said that he is happy other players are talking about him, because that shows he is and important name in the leaderboards. He continued by saying that he would like to start every tournament as the person everyone is there to challenge and defeat.

McIlory also said that he feels like he is on a roll and plans to keep the momentum as much as possible. He stated that he will attend every tournament he can because that is the best kind of practice, in real game conditions, against strong competitors.

This doesn’t seem to be very difficult feat for the young player, however let’s not forget the case against Horizon (former agents) that is supposed to take place in February. One thing is sure: it will be very interesting to watch young McIlory this year.
