Lydia Ko and her instructor Sean Hogan

Lydia Ko and her instructor Sean Hogan

After the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship, where Ko missed her first cut in an event of the LPGA, she dropped of the top. You probably remember that she was the number one for 19 weeks. If you are expecting to see a different game of this golfer, you are wrong. Next week, in Arkansas, she will return to action. Her instructor, Sean Hogan, said that she is back to work.
Leadbetter Golf Academy at Champions Gate is still focused on the same things as when they started working together in November 2013. Still, they are keeping the things simple and they are focused on adding more shots. At the same time, they are trying to maintain her balance and her structure to her training. A person, responsible for the connection between Sean Hogan and Lydia Ko is Hee Young Park. She is a former student of Hogan. Before Hogan, Ko was working with Guy Wilson. He and David Leadbetter saw the potential of Ko and they believe that she can become the best golfer in the world.
The previous training of Ko, should help elevate her to the number one in the 2015 season. She would become the youngest player (at age 17) who accomplished that. On the LPGA, she won 2 events. You probably know that they were: Swinging Skirts LPGA Classic and ISPS Handa Women’s Australian Open.
Hogan said that winning Race to the CME Globe and Tour Championship was crucial for the self-confidence of Ko. Her victory capped her rookie season with 12 top 10 finishes. Also, her game included amazing play in the majors.
