Dorothy Delasin is a famous professional woman golfer from the United States. She was born in 1980. She has a dual nationality as well. She held both the citizenship of the US as well as the Philippines. However, she gave up her Filipino citizenship around 1999.She had been playing golf as a professional in the LPGA Tours. She was born in Texas. However, she was brought up in the Californian city of San Francisco. In San Francisco, she attended the school named Washington High.
Delasin was very passionate about the game from her younger days in childhood. Since her school did not have any girl’s team for golf, she enrolled herself in the boys’ team and competed against then during all the years of her high school. She was so good at the game that she even won the Championship’s that were solely meant for boys. Her amateur was excellent and strong. During her span of amateur career, she has won both the titles of U.S. Girls' Junior and U.S. Women's Amateur in 1996 and 1999 respectively.
She turned professional in the year 1999 when she joined the LPGA Tours. In her span of LPGA Tours, till date she had won four wins over there. In fact, because of her excellent performance, she was awarded the LPGA Rookie of the Year in the year 2000. She was the proud winner of Women's World Cup of Golf in 2008 along with her teammate Jennifer Rosales. However, they represented the Team Philippines.
